The 60’s saw the introduction of the revolutionary Lamborghini Miura, which to this day, is considered to be the first supercar ever made. Ferrari had to answer to the threat from Sant’Agata Bolognese by introducing their, for that time, most expensive and fastest road-going car. Officially named 365 GTB/4, their flagship model was presented at the Paris Auto Salon in 1968, and was, as intended by Ferrari, a sensation. With its stunning body design signed by Pininfarina and its powerful 353-bhp Lampredi four-cam V12 engine, it conquered the hearts of the media and people. Not only was it striking to look at, but with a top speed of 174 mph, it was also the fastest car ever built. It surpassed the Miura in every way imaginable, and went on racing, proving itself through the 1970’s. In total, 1,284 Ferrari Daytona’s were ever made.
Chassis 16765 was delivered in 1973 through Nocentini Automobili s.p.a. in Firenze, Italy. The original color combination was exquisite Marrone Metallizzato (107-M-73 Salchi) over Pelle Beige VM 3218. Today, it retains the same leather and interior color, but instead of the brown exterior dress, it now sports a beautiful and rich blue which is a factory color named Blu Julie and which marries perfectly with the light interior. The car has been fully restored at Joe Macari Performance Cars in England using the right materials and presents in immaculate condition. In February 2019, it was awarded the highly important Ferrari Classiche Certificate. In addition to the red Ferrari book, the car’s history is documented by a Marcel Massini report.
The Daytona is a fantastic looking car and an even better GT, made for long distance travels and cruising around the French riviera or the Amalfi Coast in Italy. Purchasing a 365 GTB/4 brings a whole lifestyle with the car and it is one we couldn’t be more envious of. The car we are offering is ready to go and will benefit from a freshen-up at our state-of-the-art workshop before delivery, so that it performs as intended by the factory 50 years ago.
